Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on Thursday that people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are allowed to engage in indoor and outdoor activities without the use of a mask or keeping to a six feet (1.8 m) social distance.
During a White House press conference, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said “Today the CDC is updating our guidance for fully vaccinated people. Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or fully distancing,” adding “If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.”
The CDC still asks those vaccinated to wear masks in crowded indoor settings like public transportations, hospitals and planes as well as in large outdoor crowds.
“We have all longed for this moment when we can get to some sense of normalcy.”
