MINNEAPOLIS— Okay, so the weekend I spent at Twin Cities Comic Con was actually last year and I’m really bummed about it. The annual event took place this past weekend, Nov. 3-5, and I couldn’t attend. Work commitments and my niece’s first birthday took priority.

It’s officially the end for The CW’s superhero television. When “Smallville” first aired on The WB, now known as The CW, it ushered in a renaissance for the superhero genre. It appears the end of this era will also conclude with a Superman show as “Superman & Lois” concludes on the same network in 2024.

James Gunn has found his Lois and Clark. The co-head of DC Studios confirmed reported rumors yesterday afternoon that David Corenswet (Netflix’s “The Politician” and “Hollywood”) and Rachel Brosnahan (Amazon Prime’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) both landed the titular roles for his upcoming Cinematic Universe launcher “Superman: Legacy,” which is set to premiere in 2025.
