The first official trailer for ‘WandaVision’ has officially dropped ushering a refreshing new take on superheroes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) phase four.
Marvel Studios released the trailer during the 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards. It came as a surprise for most while also providing a new poster for the Disney+ series. The studio has also officially dropped a press plot with casting details.

According to Disney+, the series takes place after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and is “a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) – two superpowered beings living in idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect everything is not what it seems”.
One major plot point for the series will be how Vision is still alive after the Infinity War. Those who saw “Avengers: Infinity War” know Thanos removed the mind stone killing the synthetic android in the process. It will be interesting to see how the studio will reference and convey to the audience how and why Vision is alive as of this moment.

It has been confirmed that the series will also change everything for Wanda as the Marvel Cinematic Universe starts to move forward to phase four.
“[We have] the opportunity to tell their story and show more of what Wanda can do, more of what makes Vision, Vision, and most importantly, reveal a name that I’m not even sure we’ve said in the MCU yet, but we make a big deal of in the show, is the fact that Wanda is the Scarlet Witch. And what does that mean, that she is the Scarlet Witch? That’s what we play into with this show in ways that are entirely fun, entirely funny, somewhat scary, and will have repercussions for the entire future of Phase 4 of the MCU,” Kevin Fiege said at CCXP 2019.

In addition to WandaVision being one of the first dominos to fall during Phase four, the series has been confirmed to be connected and linked to ‘Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness,’ where the Scarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen, has also been confirmed to play a role in.
‘WandaVision’ will also take inspiration from various genres. WandaVision gives off the feel of an ‘I love Lucy’ situation with the nuclear family setting for a few moments taking hold of the plot. Then it fills in the void with an abundance of color and our minds are just blown from there on out. It seems like Marvel will take us on a ride like never before.

Wandavison will have Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision respectfully. However, some old and new faces will join the ranks of the illustrious MCU. Kat Dennings, Randall Park will be returning from the films to reprise their roles of Darcy Lewis and agent Jimmy Woo respectively. Teyonah Parris will also join the ranks of WandaVision as an older Monica Rambeau who made her debut in Captain Marvel, actress Akira Akbar portrayed the younger version of the character in the 2019 film. Kathyrn Hahn has been cast as the ‘nosy neighbor’ and from the looks of the trailer, Hahn’s character seems more integral to the plot than she’s letting on.
As of now, Wandavison has no official release date, however, fans should expect to see the new series by the end of 2020.

Paul Bettany had this to say when asked about the WandaVision project.
Speaking at Sundance Film Festival, the actor Bettany called the series “f***ing bonkers”, adding: “I mean, it’s so out there, and nuts. Fans will not have to wait that much longer. They’ll get much more of an insight very, very soon.”
