A shooting at a Fourth of July parade in a Chicago suburb about 20 miles north of the city has left at least five people dead and 19 injured, police said.
Police are still searching for a suspect who remains at large.
“I recently signed the first major bipartisan gun reform legislation in almost thirty years into law, which includes actions that will save lives,” President Joe Biden said in a released statement. “But there is much more work to do, and I’m not going to give up fighting the epidemic of gun violence.”
