Fans take to the skies to rally for the restoration of the "SnyderVerse" after Discovery's successful acquisition of Warner Media from AT&T with social media campaigns and sky banners.

Fans of Zack Snyder have been rallying for the filmmaker’s take on the DC Universe for years. Campaigns for Henry Cavill’s Superman, Amy Adams’ Lois Lane, #ReleaseTheAyerCut and the restoration of the “SnyderVerse” took place throughout the pandemic, all tailing on the success of “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” which has a fan-run campaign to thank for its praised release last year on HBO Max. And that’s only a handful.

Now, following the successful merger of Discovery and Warner Media, rebranded as Warner Bros. Discovery, fans continue to campaign for the restoration of Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Cinematic Universe.

One such fan is frequent Daily Planet contributor Sam Kent. Independently, Sam successfully organized a flyover Sky Banner that read “WB Discovery # Restore The Snyder Verse” during last month’s Oscar Award’s Red Carpet.

“This was possible because of [the fans’] generous help and support,” Sam wrote on GoFundMe. “We even had fans who messaged for instructions on how to donate to charity after the fundraiser had closed, and that fills my heart with pride for the SnyderVerse fandom. Thank you for your trust in the organization of the previous sky banner event.”

Sam again organized a flyover in Hollywood California, this time congratulating Warner Bros. Discovery’s recently christened CEO David Zaslav. This recent banner read “Congrats David Zaslav! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse” and flew over WB Studios, the Hollywood Sign and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“We respectfully, strongly, and passionately ask David Zaslav to give Zack Snyder a call and restore the SnyderVerse,” the GoFund me page for the flyover read. “We are a patient, persistent, and loyal fandom who believes in artistic integrity, directorial vision, and compassionate storytelling. It would make tremendous business sense for WB Discovery to complete the Snyderverse saga, and then have your own fresh interpretation without the baggage of past executive mismanagement while also earning the goodwill of DC fans.”

Another flyover is scheduled for next month in celebration of the “Snyder Cut’s” official announcement.

“After the sky banner on Monday April 11, the next sky banner will be on Friday May 20, the anniversary of the ‘SnyderCut’ being officially announced to be released on HBO Max,” Sam said on the GoFundMe page. “The text of the sky banner for that event will be ‘#RestoreTheSnyderCut #ReleaseTheAyerCut” in support of Ayer’s vision of his 2016 film which was savagely vandalized by the studio.”

Editor’s note: This event was organized independently by Sam Kent. The Daily Planet was not involved at any point. All details were conducted and crafted independently by Sam.
