The Pokémon Company released a new Pokémon Presents video presentation on Wednesday morning, showcasing the latest news on new Pokémon games coming to the Nintendo Switch including “Pokémon Brilliant Diamond,” “Shining Pearl” and “Pokémon Legends: Arceus.”
Pokemon PPokémon Presents showed viewers that the Nintendo Switch remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl will be updated yet stay faithful to the originals. The upcoming remakes will feature the return of Pokémon Super Contests, where trainers and their Pokémon will show off their moves and appearances.
Another classic feature making a return to the remakes is the ability for Pokemon trainers to explore the Sinnoh Region’s Underground network but the underground will be slightly different than how it was in the original games.
According to the game’s website, players will use the Explorer Kit that will be given during their adventures to the “Grand Underground, where you can participate in activities such as digging up valuable treasures and Pokémon Fossils, or creating your own Secret Base. You can also visit places called Pokémon Hideaways, where you can find Pokémon that live in a variety of different environments.”
Pokémon Hideaways is a newly introduced feature to the Sinnoh’s Grand Underground. It comes with a number of different areas starting from still-water caverns to volcanic landscapes, housing different Pokémon residing in different caverns. Some Pokémon will only be available in the caverns alongside with the inhabitants of the Sinnoh Region.
Players will be able to customize their trainer’s outfits. Previous Pokémon games that allowed trainer customization included Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and the Sword and Shield games.
The remakes’ launch will coincide with the release of a new Nintendo Switch Lite console, featuring Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia.
Pokémon Presents dedicated a time in their stream to provide viewers more updates on Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a game that takes viewers back in time to the Sinnoh Region before it became the Sinnoh region of modern times. Pokémon Legends Arceus takes place in the Hisui Region, a precursor to what will transform into the Sinnoh Region.
In Pokemon Legends, players will join the Galaxy Expedition Team, or Galaxy Team for short and will be given a mission to travel around the region and meet every species of Pokémon from all over the Hisui Region in an effort tot complete the region’s first ever Pokédex.
The upcoming RPG game will feature new regional variants of existing Pokémon. The upcoming RPG game will feature new regional variants of existing Pokemon. The two new variants are Hisuian Braviary and Hisuian Growlithe. This version of Braviary will be a Normal/Psychic type Pokémon while Growlithe’s regional variant will be a combination of fire and Rock type.
The game will introduce new Pokémon Wyrdeer and Baculegion. The new Pokémon are evolved forms of existing Pokémon, Stantler and Basculin.

Pokemon Legends will feature debut for new characters that will play a major role in your adventure. Each region of the Pokémon World is home to a Pokemon Professor that aids the players in their journeys by providing them with their very first starter Pokémon and Professor Laventon of the Hisui Reigon is no exception, According to the game’s website, Lavention can be described as a professor “conducts research into Pokémon’s modes of life.” Other new character’s include Commander Kamado, who serves as Boss of the Galaxy Team. Kamado is described as a “Harsh leader at times” but can be trusted and very reliable and Captain Cyllene, leader of the Survey Corps, who is described as “strict with others and herself.”
Pokémon Riding will also be in “Pokémon Legends,” as a trailer released showing off the players ability to ride on Wyndeer, Basculacion and Hisuian Braviary. “Pokémon Legends” will arrive in January 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, while Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will arrive November 2021 for the Switch.
