Sasha Calle will be playing Supergirl in the new DC and Warner Bros. movie, “The Flash.” Known for her Daytime Emmy nominated role in “The Young and the Restless,” Calle will be the first Latina Supergirl for DC. She beat out more than four hundred others auditioning for the role.
Director Andy Muschietti told Calle “you’re Supergirl” on an Instagram post early Friday afternoon. Muschietti has made a name for himself discovering talent after casting the young actors in “It”. Hollywood is comparing this decision to Zack Snyder casting Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman.
Calle will join a star-studded cast in the multiverse centered film. Ezra Miller will play the Flash and both Michael Keaton and Ben Afflek will play Batman. “The Flash” is set to come out November, 2022.
