DC FanDome was just the beginning!
Adult Swim’s Anime Block, Toonami, will be celebrating the initial release of “Wonder Woman 1984,” starring Gal Gadot, with a special airing of two DC Comics Animated Movies on December 19th.
The two DC animated films will be Wonder Woman: Bloodlines and Justice League: New Frontier. Wonder Woman: Bloodlines will air from midnight to 1:45 a.m. followed by Justice League: New Frontier from 1:45 to 3:30 a.m.
Toonami made the announcement on their Facebook page on Friday.
“In honor of the Wonder Woman 1984 release on HBO Max and in theaters, Toonami is lassoing up a special animated movie night! Next Saturday night, catch Wonder Woman Bloodlines from midnight at 1:45a, followed by Justice League New Frontier from 1:45a – 3:30a. Don’t miss out on Toonami’s night of Wonder Woman on December 19th, and gear up for Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters and on HBO Max on December 25th!”

Toonami and DC Comics are no strangers to one another. Back in late August to celebrate then upcoming arrival of DC FanDome, Toonami aired four Batman movies over the span of two Saturdays.

1:30 AM – Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part One

12:00 AM – Batman: Gotham Knight
1:45 AM – Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part Two
During the anime block’s initial run on Cartoon Network in early 2000’s, Batman The Animated Series was one of the blocks most notable shows, airing from 2000-2003.
Superman: The Animated Series aired on Toonami around the same time as Batman.
Fellow DC animated shows, such as Teen Titans, Batman Beyond, The Batman, and both Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, aired on Toonami later on in its tenure Cartoon Network.
Two years after Toonami was revived on adult swim in 2012, Beware the Batman, a show originally apart of Cartoon Network’s DC Nation programming block, aired from May 2014 to September 2014, finishing its run with a mini marathon of the final seven episodes.
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines and Justice League: New Frontier will air December 19, 2020 on Adult Swim. As for Wonder Woman 1984, the highly anticipated sequel will air both in theaters and HBO Max on December 25th, Christmas Day. There will also be a premier of the film on dcfandome.com December 15, 2020 at 12 p.m. Pacific Time.
