Pokemon ‘Crown Tundra’ release date revealed

The Galar Region is expanding once more!

The second Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion, The Crown Tundra, has given a release date.



The DLC is coming to the Nintendo Switch on Oct. 22. Game Freak announced the news during a Pokemon-filled Nintendo Direct on Youtube.

The Crown Tundra takes players to a new location in the game. Also introduced in the game is new story content as well.

Familiar Pokemon, like Slowking, will be getting now Galarian forms.

Legendary Pokemon from the past will also be making a comeback. The players will have the chance to capture every legendary pokemon from the past.

Players will be introduced to the Galarian Star Tournament, a tournament-style battle system that will allow the player to team up with characters they’ve encountered in the game.

Starting Sept. 29, players will be able to add a special Pikachu to their collection. This particular Pikachu will come decorative hats that’ll look familiar to die-hard Pokemon fans.

Game Freak and the Pokemon Company announced Pokemon’s first DLC expansions for Sword and Shield in 2019. The first expansion, Isle of Armor, was released in June 2020. Game Freak plans to release bundles with both expansions on November 6th.

The Nintendo Direct also revealed that Pokemon GO will be integrated with Pokemon Home later this year.
