Uncovering the truth in Minnesota

“Uncovering the Truth in Minnesota” is an investigative podcast based out of the state of Minnesota. Unconstrained, unbiased, and driven for the truth, follow Sarah Knieff and Izabel Johnson as they use journalism to tell the untold stories of Minnesota.

The inspiration for the podcast comes from Sarah and Izabel’s love for writing. They wanted to be able to use journalism on their own terms in order to bring issues to light that they believe haven’t received enough public attention.

The podcast will feature episodes on current news, cold cases, political issues, unsolved mysteries, sex trafficking, the dark history of Minnesota, and much more.

About the producers

Izabel Johnson
Izabel Johnson

Izabel has always had a passion for reading, writing, and solving mysteries. These passions, along with the support of her family, friends, and coffee, are the driving forces behind Izabel’s work in investigative journalism. When she is not working, she is most likely spending time with friends and family or unwinding with some Netflix or a good book. Izabel is a senior at the University of Minnesota Duluth and will graduate in December 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in communication.

Sarah Knieff
Sarah Knieff

Sarah Knieff is a lover of cats, books, fashion and traveling. Her perfect afternoon would be spent curled up next to a fireplace, drinking a hot cappuccino, petting her cat Charli and reading her newest book purchase. She might even do a little online shopping, but don’t tell her family because she is supposed to be cutting back on buying new clothes. When Sarah is not doing all of that, or spending quality time with her friends and family, she can be found poring over the new issue of The New York Times like the dedicated journalist she is. Sarah is currently a senior at the University of Minnesota Duluth and will graduate in December 2020 with a bachelor’s in journalism and a minor in professional writing.
