California’s Union Station Homeless Services seeks community help for Thanksgiving meals

1 min read

PASADENA, CA — Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, California is asking the community to help provide Thanksgiving meals for thousands this year, aiming to collect 750 turkeys for its annual Dinner in the Park event.

The tradition has served the San Gabriel Valley for more than 50 years, offering meals and connection to those facing food insecurity.

Rising food costs and the rollback of SNAP benefits have increased demand: last year, USHS served over 6,000 meals, and organizers expect that number could double this Thanksgiving. “The loss of SNAP support doesn’t just impact individual households. It increases food insecurity for entire neighborhoods,” said CEO Katie Hill.

Community members can help by donating frozen turkeys at the USHS Adult Center in Pasadena on November 17–18, sending items through Amazon or Target wishlists, or making monetary gifts online at ushs.org/dip25.
