Ways to give customers healthier options in your restaurant

1 min read

If you’re a restaurant owner, you likely have your customer’s needs in mind. This is important, as it makes you money in the long run and conveys that you care about others.

One of the ways you can show your concern for your customers is to give them healthier food options in your restaurant. We’ll go over different ways you can make this happen below.

Offer vegan and vegetarian options

You’re missing out if you’re not tapping into the vegan and vegetarian demographic. Even fast-food places are offering vegetarian options now. So why don’t you? Tap into this demographic and place some dishes on your menu that you normally wouldn’t put there, even if it’s just switching out shrimp for broccoli. Small changes could make a big difference, so don’t isolate anyone if you don’t have to.

Use your tools and ingredient substitutes differently

There are many benefits between a deep fryer and a frying pan, but which is healthier? While deep fryers are good for fast food, frying pans are healthier. What about meat slicers? Cut your meat thin to decrease calories. There are tons of examples you can use for this. Try baking your dishes, and watch the ingredients you make for drinks. Use almond milk rather than milk from animals. You can also learn more about your customer’s preferences and cater to them using the tools you have.

Revamp your menu

If you want your customers to choose healthier options, they have to know you have them. Place icons on vegan-friendly items of leaves or small veggies to let them know these options are on the menu at a glance. Furthermore, put calories next to dishes so that customers can choose how much they want to eat. Offer a dietary section for low-calorie options as well. From there, you can offer options on your menu that indicate you’re willing to take suggestions for smaller portions. There are many ways to give customers healthier options at your restaurant. You just have to find the best ways to cater to their needs.
