Fashion icon and former Vogue editor André Leon Talley dies at 73

André Leon Talley, Vogue’s former creative director and editor-at-large, passed away Tuesday, TMZ and USA TODAY reported.

Talley was an influential fashion journalist, leading Vogue’s editorial direction in the 80s and 90s and featuring as a judge over four seasons of the TV show America’s Next Top Model.

The fashion icon also wrote two memoirs, A.L.T.: A Memoir and The Chiffon Trenches.

Talley was born Oct. 16, 1948, in Washington, D.C., and died Jan. 18, 2022 in New York. The cause of his death was not disclosed.
