Minneapolis announces city closures for Veterans Day

Here are the city office closings and other service changes related to Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

1 min read

Minneapolis City government offices, including Minneapolis 311 and the Minneapolis Service Center at 505 Fourth Ave. S., are closed Thursday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

The office closings do not affect 911 or Minneapolis police and fire emergency services. All City offices will resume regular business hours Friday, Nov. 12.

There are no changes to City of Minneapolis garbage, recycling, organics and yard waste pickups for households, so collections scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 11 will take place. However, Solid Waste and Recycling’s office is closed that day. The South Transfer Station is open normal hours for customers who have requested a voucher in advance.

The City’s parking meters are not enforced Nov. 11. Other metered parking restrictions in the city may be in effect and subject to enforcement, including those meters operated by the Park Board, University of Minnesota and private organizations. Always read the information posted on the meter or pay station to be certain.
