We don’t have forever

1 min read

Have you ever understood the value of life?
It’s a question we all ask ourselves
One time or another
Some make it a mission in their lives to find the truth
Some value identity over emotion
We lust for signs of purpose
Longing to understand our place of semblance
Many are called
Few are chosen
Life is torn asunder
Some dance to shield the river of tears
Some cry to express the happiest moments of triumph
Some just laugh to warm up the heart of those closest
It just leads to the exact same conclusion
Everyone is writing a story
The pen’s ink is the memories of
Strangers
Loved Ones
Friends
Text is built upon the foundation of reality
Pages are days
Years are chapters
We forget to remember we think too much
This is why we feel too little,
But it’s an embodiment of a single day
It’s the feeling of living
Dying is human
It’s organic
Natural
Life is manageable but it speeds up
We idle by not realizing the fate appearing before us
So close yet so far
Just reach out and take hold
Souls drift off into the ocean that comes beyond
Our paths will slowly erode from underneath us
Time will drip away
Legacy shackles us here
Till you close your eyes and let go
That’s what the value of life is
Remember we don’t have forever
