Embers

1 min read

The fire feels so warm tonight
The extent and potency of the heat was so intense
It could keep you warm
All winter long even in the coldest environment
The cold icy chill of death wouldn’t be able to reach the toasty soul residing in one
Embers were sprining to life from the palace of the pit
Laughter could be heard in the distance
A perfect scene was unfolding
A image was painted before the glossy eyes
Of everyone sipping away the fears of reality
One constant remained though
The ripe color transitioning from a deep bright orange to a crisp yellow
It was truly a sight to see
However the minute other senses were triggered
The stimulus in one was affected
The heat was like a blanket acting as a tool
Only having one purpose
It was designated to fight the cold chill of the night
Annexing the sky
Until the shroud of shadows overtook the moonlit night
