7 predictions for ‘The 100’ season 7

by Brianna Taggart
April 23, 2020

Two-headed deer, mountain men torturing people, a viral city to house people’s consciousness, a radiation death wave, body snatching and a green fog that seems to exist outside the realm of possibility.  Each season of the CW’s post-apocalyptic show “The 100” delivers more and more unexpected things for the characters to face and overcome — surprising the audience left and right since its start in 2014.  The series is based in a future where Earth has been destroyed by nuclear bombs, leaving the radiated land uninhabitable and the last of the human population living in space. But, when their spaceship

Binge, binge baby: Best shows to watch during COVID-19 self-quarantine

by Brianna Taggart
March 31, 2020

COVID-19 has taken over not only our physical world, but our virtual one.  I go to the grocery store and see shelves empty. I drive past my university’s campus and see the once packed parking lots now full of available spaces. I pass houses with college students moving out and moving back home to their families.

The Bluffs

March 6, 2019

The following is a creative piece. The Parker farm sits on a quiet stretch of the North Hillview Blacktop that runs along the west side of the Illinois River bluffs. It sits tucked into a five-acre opening in the cliffs with, what was once called Elmer’s Cut Road running along the south end of the property, heading east up into the bluffs. The Parker’s home sits almost dead center of the opening. Built in the 1950s, its solid brick ranch-style architecture combined with a glass A-frame in the middle, gives off a feeling that the house is gazing outward at

Hall of Trophies reveals Wayne ego

by Kirk
February 13, 2019

Bruce Wayne has a healthy ego. We know this from his many exploits from “Year 1” to “Knightfall,” a myriad of conversations with his many mentees, Justice League leadership banter over the decades, conversations with Alfred over late dinners and of course all the Wayne women. But it is in his Hall of Trophies that we see the real Bruce Wayne, through the physical evidence he has chosen to collect and showcase in The Hall. Dressed as a Bat at night, he hides his true identity as he strives to take down those with evil identities all around him, to
