After eight weeks, HBO’s “Lanterns” has reached the end of its first season. The series, which premiered Aug. 16, 2026, follows veteran Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and rookie John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. The finale aired Sunday, Oct. 4.
Reaction has been split along the way. The show has been a streaming ratings standout, though its audience score has been less stable than its critical standing. Critics have praised its ambition while questioning its pacing. HBO has not yet announced a second season.
