Percy and Sam were meant to be, until they were not. Can they fix the rift that has opened between them over the weekend of Sam’s mom’s funeral?
This was an interesting one. It was romance, but not your typical romance. The book takes place between past summers and the current weekend. Unlike most romances with flashbacks, this book is split pretty evenly between the past and the present. So we really got to know the two main characters as teens and young adults, I would say maybe even better than we do as full adults, certainly Sam.
I was really invested in them as love interests and seeing their growth over the years. I am docking a quarter of a star because this book falls into the “this huge thing happened, and we are not going to talk about it, but we are going to mention it every chapter” trope. And that just bugs me.
