Report of stabbing leaves one dead in Saint Paul’s North End

Saint Paul police are investigating after a person was reported to be stabbed in the city’s North End neighborhood on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

SAINT PAUL— Just after 10:30 p.m., Saint Paul police officers were called to an apartment complex on the 1300 block of Western Avenue North on a report of a person who had been stabbed.

Officers arrived on scene and located the adult male victim who was suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers secured the scene and called for Saint Paul Fire medics, who transported the man to Regions Hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

One adult female occupant that was in the apartment was brought to Saint Paul Police Headquarters for questioning.

In addition, members of the forensic services unit are processing the scene and looking for any evidence that could help determine what happened.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death.

This is the second homicide of 2024 in Saint Paul.
