Saint Paul Police are investigating a stabbing that led to the death of a man in Union Park

Officers responded to calls of a reported stabbing at 10:33 A.M. on the morning of Oct. 6 at a home in the 1500 block of Iglehart Avenue in Saint Paul. A 9-1-1 call from inside the home indicated a person had been stabbed, and the suspect was still inside.

SAINT PAUL— Upon their arrival, Saint Paul Police officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent stab wound to the chest. They immediately began to render medical aid until medics arrived on scene. The victim was transported to Regions Hospital where he later died. 

Saint Paul officers quickly secured the scene and searched the area for a suspect. An adult male suspect was located, detained, and being held for questioning. 

The police department’s homicide unit is currently working to determine what led to the incident, as it is in the early stages of the investigation.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn. 

This is the 28th homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul.
