Trump takes the Fifth Amendment in New York attorney general’s investigation

Former president Donald Trump declined to answer questions under oath from the New York state attorney general’s office on Wednesday, invoking his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination.

The long-running civil investigation, led by state Attorney General Letitia James, “involves allegations that Trump’s company, the Trump Organization, misstated the value of prized assets like golf courses and skyscrapers, misleading lenders and tax authorities.”
