Former president Donald Trump’s Florida home searched by FBI

1 min read

The FBI searched former president Donald Trump’s residence at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday.

According to The New York Times, the search appears to be focused on material — including “many pages of classified documents” — that Trump allegedly brought with him when he left the White House.

All presidential records are owned by the public and should be automatically transferred into the custody of the National Archives as soon as a president leaves office, per the Presidential Records Act of 1978.
