US withdraws all troops and stops military evacuations, ending 20-year military mission in Afghanistan.

On Monday, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) commander General Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. announced the end of the US military mission to evacuate citizens and the complete withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

The news comes one day before President Joe Bidens August 31 deadline for the pullout.
