Breaking news, Christian Cage is ALL Elite! The news came as a sudden shock to all fans around the world. The reveal happened this past Sunday March 7th during AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view event. To many it came as a sudden surprise because the once longtime ‘Captain Charisma’ a fan favorite of the ‘WWE universe’ was now the newest signee to All Elite Wrestling family.
Christian, real name Jason Reso, came out to the ring in ‘Daily’s Place amphitheater’ with a clipboard to officially sign with the wrestling promotion. The Canadian wrestler once known to pro-wrestling fans as ‘Captain Charisma’ and ‘The Instant Classic’ signed the contract in the middle of the ring to the applause and fan-fare of the crowd. To note, Christian also came out promoting a piece of apparel – a black logo tee that read ‘Out. Work. Everyone.’ It was clear Reso was looking to make an impact, but also throw shade at his previous employer “WWE”.
To note, the news did come as a shock to many fans. Due to the fact back on January 31st 2021. Fans of the wrestling pro-circuit witnessed Christian return to the WWE brand and would go on to participate in the 2021 Royal Rumble. Reso or known by his ring name ‘Chrisitan’ during his tenure of WWE officially entered the match at number 24. Where fans were treated to a reunion with his former tag team partner, Adam “Edge” Copeland during the event. However, as time progressed, Christian was eliminated by Seth Rollins along with Braun Strowman.
Many felt after the sudden emergence of Chrisitan that the company brought him back to help groom, and train the next generation. Of course his quick removal from the mega match put all hopes to the side. It was clear to see that a sense of resentment toward his former employer “WWE” was growing in his Reso’s mind.
To report, When recent AEW signee Paul Wright, formerly known as the Big Show in the WWE, announced that the promotion was going to sign a ‘hall of fame worthy talent,’ fans took to social media to give their take on who the new signee was. Many speculated that the signee would be on the level of talent, and experience as wrestlers such as Kurt Angle, Dave Bautista, John Cena, CM Punk, or even Rob Van Dam.
For those who don’t know Christian is a decorated singles and tag-team wrestler in several wrestling promotions including WWE and TNA Wrestling (Now Impact Wrestling). Christian is a 9-time WWE World Tag Team Champion, a 2-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a 4-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, a 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and an ECW Champion.
