Capitol Rioter wearing horns and fur arrested

US Attorney's Office has arrested the alleged rioter photographed wearing horns and fur at Capitol.

Federal authorities took Jacob Anthony Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, of Arizona, into custody on Saturday and have charged him with “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds,” according to the Justice Department.

News reports have identified Chansley as a well-known Trump supporter; according to azcentral he was part of the mob that stormed the Capitol on Wednesday. It is alleged that Chansley was identified as the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless, and tan pants. This individual carried a spear, approximately six feet in length, with an American flag tied just below the blade.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, a.k.a. Jake Angeli, of Arizona, was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Chansley was taken into custody today.

Angeli is a well-known Trump supporter and follower of QAnon conspiracy theories, according to Reuters and The Washington Times. QAnon is an umbrella term for a range of baseless conspiracy theories, according to The New York Times and Snopes. Dozens of others have been arrested in the days following the storming of the Capitol on Wednesday.
