This book made me want to hug my younger self.

Imogen is the straightest high school senior in the world. She just loves queer media and attracts queer friends and cannot stop thinking about the girl with the cute freckles because she is a super strong ally. Obviously.

This book felt like reading my teenage diary. Except, not really, because these are things I never would have written down. I was in the GSA, I stood up for my friends, and I even did a speech detailing the differences between sex and gender and romantic and sexual attraction. And was I queer? No, of course not. I was just the best ally ever. Getting to see Imogen’s experience play out and hearing all the thoughts that were going through her head felt so near to my heart. I feel so seen by this book.

I loved Lili and her incredible support throughout the entirety of Imogen’s journey. Gretchen made me want to tear my hair out, but there are people like that. People like that have made me doubt my feelings and emotions just like Imogen, so I get it.

I highly recommend picking this one up.
