Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

It can be difficult to rate a nonfiction book, especially one about a person’s life, but my rating has nothing to do with the subject matter, that is Marsha P. Johnson.

I loved getting to learn about Marsha and the time around Stonewall. As someone who does not know a lot of her own history, it was enlightening to learn more. It also shed a new light on Pride for me, particularly Pride as protest. It makes it more meaningful.

I do feel as though it jumped around quite a bit. There were some points where I did not quite know where we were or where we were going next. But, all in all, it was an informative book.
