No.63 — ‘Absolute Superman’ issues 1-5 spoiler review, PLUS: ‘Rise of The Super 7!’

1 min read

Alan and Rob discuss the acclaimed “Absolute Superman” series by DC! How does this new alternate version of Superman’s origin compare against other beloved versions? Does Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval’s darker interpretation gel with our sensibilities?

Later, we discuss a lost gem from the blessed decade of the 1990s “Rise of the Super 7”, a gloriously silly, over-the-top Elseworlds story that seems to harness every “extreme” 1990s comic cliche you can imagine – leather jackets, pouches, ripped jeans, earrings and Alien ripoffs! Rob also points out how this story may have inspired some of the legendary Kenner figures of that decade.
