The latest State Farm commercial, “Batman vs. Bateman,” has been making waves in the advertising world with its impressive cast and funny vibe. It stars Jason Bateman as Bateman, a wannabe superhero who hilariously can’t compete with the legendary Batman. The commercial debuted during the Big Ten Men’s Championship and has since gone viral.
The commercial opens with Gotham City in chaos, featuring fires, explosions, and the Joker causing mayhem. Commissioner Gordon activates the Bat-Signal, but instead of the expected Batman, Bateman arrives on a motorized scooter, much to everyone’s disappointment. The ad humorously highlights Bateman’s ineptitude in contrast to Batman’s heroics as Bateman struggles against classic villains like the Riddler, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy. Eventually, Batman steps in to save the day, telling Bateman to “go home and do a podcast or something.”
The State Farm “Batman vs. Bateman” commercial features a star-studded cast, including:
- Jason Bateman as “Bateman,” the wannabe superhero.
- SZA as Catwoman.
- Kai Cenat, the popular streamer, as a Gotham citizen.
- Jordan Howlett (aka Jordan the Stallion) as Commissioner Gordon.
- Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman from the LEGO movies.
The advertisement also features iconic Batman villains such as The Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and The Riddler. The specific actors who portrayed these villains in the State Farm “Batman vs. Bateman” commercial have not been publicly disclosed.
Fans have stated that the ad boasts production quality on par with that of a blockbuster movie, maybe even better. It showcases a modified version of Batman’s iconic suit and Batmobile. The cast features Grammy-winning artist SZA as Catwoman, streaming sensation Kai Cenat, and social media star Jordan Howlett as Commissioner Gordon. Additionally, Jake from State Farm makes an appearance, connecting the ad to the brand’s message.
The ad was developed by the creative agency Highdive. State Farm’s Chief Agency Sales & Marketing Officer, Kristyn Cook, explained that the juxtaposition of Batman and Bateman encourages consumers to question the value of their current insurance policies.
