The Snyderverse Trilogy I: Man of Steel

1 min read

Host Anthony Desiato and guest Bernie Gerstmayr (Aw Yeah Comics in Skokie, IL) dig into the 2013 film “Man of Steel” directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman.

In the first part of a three-episode exploration of the “Snyderverse Trilogy” of films, Anthony and Bernie discuss “Man of Steel’s” most controversial moments—Jonathan’s death, the destruction of Metropolis, and Superman’s killing of Zod—along with its depiction of Krypton, emotionally resonant journey for Clark, and central themes.

  1. Loved this movie, but I wish there were more classic Superman tropes incorporated into the film. I craved more Daily Planet and Lois and Clark romance!! It made jumping right into their relationship in BvS less satisfying. Also, we needed a globe on that building’s roof (but that’s a personal preference).
