In the latest episode of Talk Ville from Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and Tom Welling (Clark Kent) discusses the ninth season one episode of “Smallville,” “Rogue.”
In this episode Michael discusses his friendship and relationship with Kelly Brook, who played Lex’s first featured love interest Victoria Hardwick.
Tom also shared that he fell asleep during the shooting of the bus scene where Clark saves a homeless man in Metropolis, which is the first super-save in the city of tomorrow in “Smallville” canon.
The dynamic duo also talks about the first time they did the slow motion bullet dodge, which would eventually become a staple of the decade long show. Tom also explored how Cameron Dye, who played the main antagonist Sam Phelan on this episode, agitated the Superman actor in certain scenes.
“Smallville” co-creator Al Gough also shared his thoughts on the first non “freak of the week” character.
Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum revisit Episode 9 of Smallville: Rogue! The guys discuss the first break from the ‘Freak of the Week’ concept and get some insights from Al and how this was a defining test that would go on to shape the series. Tom breaks down the two major stunts where Clark stops a bus and dodges a bullet, sharing which one caused him to fall asleep while waiting to shoot. Michael shares fond memories working alongside Kelly Brook on and off set and teases a few upcoming guests in the works. In “Smallville’s” “Rogue,” corrupt detective Sam Phelan (Cameron Dye) learns about Clark’s (Tom Welling) abilities, and he offers to keep quiet if Clark steals some internal police files. When Clark refuses, Phelan frames Jonathan (John Schneider) for murder to extort Clark into stealing from Luther Corp.
