Countries advise citizens to leave Ukraine

Multiple countries have advised their citizens to leave Ukraine as the threat of Russian invasion continues to loom.

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Friday that Americans in Ukraine should leave “as soon as possible.”

The UK Foreign Office also urged its citizens to leave “while commercial means are available.” Japan, Latvia, Norway and the Netherlands have also called on their citizens to leave.

While Britain, Germany, France and the US and other countries continue diplomatic efforts to help avert a possible invasion, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also noted on Friday that Russia could invade Ukraine even during the Winter Olympics which end on February 20.

With over 100,000 troops near the Ukrainian border and military maneuvers in the region, Russia says there are no plans to invade, according to ABC News. Stay here for the latest.
