Hinterland Music Festival confirmed its 2026 artist lineup this week in St. Charles, Iowa, with a four-day schedule and a mix of high-profile and emerging performers. The festival, located about 30 miles south of Des Moines, is scheduled for July 30–Aug. 2.
Headliners for the 11th annual event include Katseye, Lorde, Mumford & Sons, Kali Uchis, Jessie Murph, Santigold, and MUNA, alongside a broader roster of acts spanning multiple genres. Organizers said the festival continues to attract national attention for presenting mainstream and up-and-coming artists in a rural Midwestern setting.

Fans were invited to register for presale codes at the festival website. Presales began on November 20 at 11 a.m. CT, with general ticket sales opening on November 21. Tickets include four-day general admission, GA+, VIP, and VIP+ passes, as well as camping, parking, and shuttle options. Payment plans started at $25. Camping passes were sold per tent or campsite, not per person.
The festival confirmed the return of its “90 Degree Guarantee,” which allows refunds for festival admission if temperatures are forecast to reach 90 degrees or higher for any festival day. Refunds are only available for admission tickets purchased directly through AXS and must be requested via the festival website by 11:00 p.m. CT on Monday, July 27. Camping, parking, and third-party tickets are not eligible.
Organizers highlighted the policy as part of a broader commitment to climate awareness, noting that the past decade has included the ten hottest years on record and emphasizing sustainable practices for future events.
Hinterland has earned recognition among performers and attendees. Jack Antonoff called the festival noteworthy, while Clairo described it as one of her most engaged crowds. Publications including Pitchfork, the Star Tribune, Business Insider, and the Iowa State Daily have highlighted the festival for its scenic location, community atmosphere, and mix of trending and established artists.
