MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place on Tuesday evening. Around 6:26 p.m. on July 15, 2025, First Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South.
When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s with serious gunshot wounds on the porch of a home. Officers tried to save him until firefighters and paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports indicated that an argument among a group of people on the sidewalk turned into gunfire. A man allegedly fired shots toward the residence and then fled the scene. The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the incident.
“Our investigators will do everything they can to identify the shooter in this homicide, including gathering any available video from the area,” Chief O’Hara said. “We need anyone with information — no matter how minor it may seem — to share that information with us.”
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will soon release the victim’s name, along with the cause and manner of death. If you have information, contact the Minneapolis Police Department at policetips@minneapolismn.gov or call 612-673-5845 to leave a voicemail.
