Faran Tahir set to rejoin MCU in Marvel Studios’ Vision series

On January 14th, Deadline announced that a well-known character from the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will appear in a new TV show.

Actor Faran Tahir will reprise the role of the villainous Raza, leader of the terrorist organization the 10 Rings who tried to kill Tony Stark in “Iron Man,” as part of the upcoming Paul Bettany ‘Vision’ series, which is currently still being pieced together, before cameras get rolling ahead of a reported and slated 2026 release date. 

The trade noted and revealed that no details regarding the series’ tone or narrative have been revealed besides that the latest Marvel adaption has been in work since 2022 and was put into a series order back in spring 2024. Possible plot details are reported by Deadline, as “it is believed to be centered on Vision (Bettany) as he tries to regain his memory and humanity. After Thanos killed him in 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ Vision returned in 2021’s ‘WandaVision.’”

In addition to Bettany returning to his role from his time in various Marvel films and being in the limited television series “WandaVision,” James Spader will reprise his MCU role of Ultron. In addition, actor Todd Stashwick will also appear in an undisclosed role, according to reports. “Star Trek: Picard’s” Executive Producer Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner on the new series.

Marvel Studios’ Vision series is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
