This September reading recap mentions two notable books and three audiobooks. Read my quick reviews.

‘Kilt Trip’ by Alexandra Kiley
🌶🌶
I absolutely loved this book, and it made my urge to visit Scotland even greater. If anyone knows of any tours like the ones in this book, please let a girl know. The banter between the leads was fun, witty, and enticing. I truly enjoyed the “side plot” of Addie discovering who she is and who/where she’s meant to be. It’s a longing that I share and hope I’ll find.

‘The Pairing’ by Casey McQuiston
🌶🌶
I love Casey McQuiston and everything they write, but this book left me wanting. I enjoyed it when I was reading and fell in love with Kit and Theo (minus the miscommunication trop), but that was when I was reading. I never felt the urge to “read just one more page,” and I wasn’t going about my workday excited to get home and read. It took me a lot longer to get through it than I expected.
I enjoyed each of the characters who came in and out of the story and they made me long for a life of adventure and new friends.

‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho (Audio)
It’s a nice, thoughtful book. It reminded me quite a bit of reading The Little Prince, and that makes me think it will be in my heart for a while.

‘Requiem’ by Lauren Oliver (Audio)
This was a good book! I was consistently invested. The ending was slightly lackluster, but I still enjoyed it.

‘Pandemonium’ by Lauren Oliver (Audio)
Quite an amazing sequel. At first, I didn’t like how it jumped back and forth, but it was all useful and a good story. And I don’t think the book would have been so engrossing if it all went in chronological order.
Spoilers below
They really tricked me into thinking Alex was dead and that there wouldn’t be any love triangle. But this is a young adult dystopian novel. Of course, there’s going to be a love triangle.
