Biden drops out of the 2024 presidential race

1 min read

President Joe Biden has announced via his social media channels that he is dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. No democratic replacement has been announced at this time.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden said. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.”

President Biden continued by fully endorsing current Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s leading contender.

Calls for Biden’s departure came following his lackluster performance earlier this month on a CNN debate with former president and current Republican Party nominee Donald Trump.

Currently, there are no official nominees for the Democratic Party.
