Netflix announced Monday that production has finally begun on the final and fifth chapter of their hit series “Stranger Things.”
“This is code red,” the streamer wrote on their socials. “‘Stranger Things 5’ production has officially begun.”
The show’s creators, known as the Duffer Brothers, have previously stated that “Stranger Things’” expansive plot was prepared from the very beginning before Netflix even introduced us to the show in 2016 debut.
“Stranger Things 4” hit the streamer with raving reviews in 2022 as the penultimate season brought favorite characters to the brink. It left on many major cliff hangers with Hawkins in ruin and characters either dead or near close to it.
“Stranger Things 5” stars Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Noah Schnapp as Will, Sadie Sink as Max, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Winona Ryder as Joyce, Joe Keery as Steve, Maya Hawke as Robin, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan, Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Bret Gelman as Murray, Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna, Tom Wlaschiha as Dmitri and Amybeth McNulty as Vickie.
The closing chapter is set for a 2025 release date.
