Shooting leaves man and woman dead in Saint Paul’s greater East Side neighborhood

Yesterday around 9:15 p.m., Saint Paul Police officers were dispatched after a child called 911 and reported that a man and woman were shot and killed inside a residence.

Yesterday around 9:15 p.m., Saint Paul Police officers were dispatched by the Ramsey County Emergency Communications Center to the 2000 block of California Av E. A child called 911 and reported that a man and woman were shot and killed inside a residence. 

When officers arrived, they located an adult male and an adult female with apparent gunshot injuries. Saint Paul Fire medics arrived on the scene and pronounced both deceased. 

“Investigators from the Saint Paul Police Homicide and Forensic Service Unit are on the scene collecting evidence and investigating this tragic incident,” the Police Department said in a released statement.

No arrests have been made, and there are no suspects being sought at this time, according to officials. 

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victims and determine their exact cause of death.
