Recent satellite images show Russian military forces moving towards the eastern Donbas area of Ukraine in preparation for a large-scale invasion.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday that Russia has renewed its offensive on the area with attacks escalating in Luhansk and Donetsk.
Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister stated that the invasion has damaged up to a third of the country’s infrastructure as Ukrainian forces continue to resist Russian attacks in the southeastern port city of Mariupol.
“The leaders affirmed their solidarity with the Ukrainian people and condemned the humanitarian suffering caused by Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified invasion,” said White House officials in a statement Tuesday.
