Bob Saget, a stand-up comedian and actor beloved for his role as Danny Tanner on the 1990s sitcom ‘Full House,’ died on Sunday at the age of 65.
Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Saget was found dead in an Orlando hotel room, adding “Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.” Saget was in the midst of a stand-up tour, and had performed in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, the previous evening.
Saget was a stand-up comedian, actor and popular television host. His acting roles included Danny Tanner on family sitcom “Full House” and its Netflix sequel “Fuller House,” and the voice of narrator Ted Mosby on the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.”
Saget was also known for his stand-up comedy, which was aimed for an older audience. He also released an album in 2014 called “That’s What I’m Talkin’ About,” which was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.
Saget was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 17, 1956, to father, Benjamin and mother, Rosalyn “Dolly.”
“Full House” costar John Stamos, who played Jesse, said that he was “broken” and “gutted.” Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget’s on-screen eldest daughter D.J., called him “one of the best human beings.”
