Shazam bolts onto the internet with new teaser trailer

1 min read

“Shazam: Fury of The Gods” director David F. Sandberg has shared the first official teaser for his upcoming DC Comics sequel, with the promise of a full trailer coming “soon…ish.”

The footage doesn’t reveal much, but we do get a teasing glimpse of the new costume Zachary Levi’s mystically powered hero will don in the movie. The trailer does feature Shazam himself pointing out, “why is it so dark, and it would probably be a good idea to have one light on.”

To report, plot details for the upcoming sequel have not been revealed, and it makes sense that more is to come, so be on the lookout for an official suit reveal in the coming weeks.

Sandberg will return to the director’s chair, with Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan once again penning the script. Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer will reprise their roles as Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman, respectively. The rest of the Shazam Family are also expected to return.

Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu will play villainous sisters Hespera and Kalypso, while Rachel Zegler is also on board as an unnamed third sister.

“Shazam: Fury of the Gods” is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
