The House voted 216-209 to reinstate Pelosi as the speaker of the US House of Representatives. Five Democrats chose not to support her with two voting for lawmakers who were not running, while three others voted “present.”

This comes as a new Congress takes office amid political uncertainty with Senate control undecided in the face of a Republican fight looming over presidential election results.
