The US is reporting over 50,000 new cases of COVID-19 per day for the first time since mid-August

The US reported 57,420 new positive cases in the US on Friday, the third day in a row with over 50,000 new cases, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University.

More than 213,000 Americans have died since the start of the pandemic. Experts and fact-checkers confirm that the data contradicts President Trump’s claim on Saturday that the pandemic is “disappearing.”
