DC Comics announces ‘Supergirl: The World’ anthology for June release

DC Comics announced Tuesday that "Supergirl: The World," a new hardcover anthology featuring stories from writers and artists in 15 countries, will be released simultaneously worldwide on June 2, 2026.

DC Comics has announced “Supergirl: The World,” a new 184-page hardcover anthology showcasing the Maiden of Might through stories created by writers and artists from 15 countries across the globe.

The collection, which will arrive day-and-date worldwide on June 2, follows in the tradition of DC’s acclaimed international anthologies including “Superman: The World,” “Batman: The World,” and “Joker: The World.” The new volume brings Supergirl to Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Cameroon, France, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Colombia, Serbia, Japan, and the United States.

Each participating region contributes an original story reflecting its own cultural voice, artistic style, and creative perspective. DC describes the collection as a global mosaic of what Supergirl represents to fans everywhere.

The official description frames the anthology around Kara Zor-El’s journey to understand her adopted home. As the last daughter of Krypton who has found her new world daunting at times, Supergirl travels the globe to discover its wonders while saving lives along the way.

The anthology will feature contributions from internationally recognized voices in comics. The United States story will be written by Mariko Tamaki with art by Skylar Patridge and a cover by Joëlle Jones. Other contributors include Spain’s Aneke handling writer, artist and cover duties; Italy’s Francesca Michielin writing with art and cover by Federica Croci; and Turkey’s Mahmud Asrar serving as writer, artist and cover artist.

Additional contributors include Serbia’s Uroš Dimitrijević and Stevan Subic; Cameroon’s Njoka Suyru with thumbnails by Coeurtys Ulrich Minko and art by Ejob Nathanael Ejob; Finland’s Johanna Sinisalo and Rosi Kämpe; Argentina’s Tomás Wortley and Rocío Zucchi; France’s Kid Toussaint and Joël Jurion; Brazil’s Fernanda Chiella; Poland’s Anna Krztoń and Kasia Nie; Mexico’s Mariana Moreno; Germany’s Yann Krehl and Marie Sann; Colombia’s Sara Rodríguez; and Japan’s Satoshi Miyagawa and Kai Kitago.

DC has coordinated with international publishing partners to ensure simultaneous release across participating regions. Partners include Panini for Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico; Ovni for Argentina; Zebra Comics for Cameroon; Dargaud/Urban Comics for France; Story House Egmont for Poland; Story House Egmont Oy Ab for Finland; Čarobna Knjiga for Serbia; and JBC for Turkey.

Each chapter offers a standalone story rooted in its country of origin, ranging from street-level heroics to mythic adventures. Together, the stories form a portrait of Supergirl that DC describes as both universal and deeply personal.

The publisher emphasized that Supergirl has long stood as one of DC’s most inspiring superheroes, representing hope, resilience, and compassion. The anthology explores how Kara Zor-El’s story resonates across borders and cultures, and how her mission to protect her adopted home takes on new meaning when viewed through a global lens.

The 184-page prestige hardcover will be priced at $24.99 in the United States and will be published simultaneously across participating regions on June 2, allowing fans around the world to experience the collection together.
