The City of Minneapolis remained under a Snow Emergency on Monday as public works crews continued plowing and treating streets following recent snowfall.
The Snow Emergency, declared after consultations with public safety and operational staff, triggered a multi-day parking schedule designed to allow crews to clear more than 1,000 miles of city streets.
Day Two parking restrictions are in effect Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. During that time, vehicles may not park on the even-numbered side of non–Snow Emergency routes or on either side of parkways until plowing is complete. Drivers who fail to comply risk being ticketed or towed.
Day Three restrictions will take effect Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., when parking will be prohibited on the odd-numbered side of non–Snow Emergency routes until streets are fully plowed.

Snow Emergency routes were cleared during Day One overnight operations. A map of designated Snow Emergency routes is available on the City of Minneapolis website.
City officials also reminded property owners that sidewalks must be cleared under city ordinance. Sidewalks at houses and duplexes must be shoveled within 24 hours after snowfall, while other properties have four daytime hours. Failure to comply may result in city crews clearing sidewalks at the owner’s expense.
Residents can stay informed by signing up for MPLS Alerts, checking the city’s website and social media pages, calling the snow emergency hotline at 612-348-SNOW, using the MPLS Parking app, or contacting 311.
