Grammy-nominated guitarist, producer, and songwriter Cory Wong released his new single “Tongue Tied (feat. Stephen Day)” on Monday. The track, described by Wong as “feel-good and slightly quirky,” features Nashville singer Stephen Day and marks the first of several collaborations for Wong’s upcoming album, “Lost In The Wonder,” set for release on Feb. 3, 2026.
The song emerged from a collaboration between Wong and Day at a Nashville studio. “Stephen brought lyric and melodic ideas I never would’ve thought of, and I surprised him with some arrangement and instrumentation twists,” Wong said. The single tells the story of a man struggling to work up the courage to talk to a woman, with the pair experimenting with arrangement, instrumentation, and a minor-third key change for the guitar solo. Day added, “Cory sent a floppy disk of instrumentals, and I went straight to writing. I’m honored that Cory wanted to make magic together.”
“Lost In The Wonder” features a diverse group of collaborators, including Taylor Hanson, Devon Gilfillian, Cody Fry, Louis Cato, Stephen Day, Benny Sings, Theo Katzman, and others. Wong said the album represents multiple facets of his artistry, encompassing guitar work, production, writing, arranging, and band leadership. “I wanted to make an album that really showcased that side of my creative expression,” he said, noting that the album still includes what he considers some of his best guitar work.
Wong announced the “Lost In The Wonder Tour,” set to begin in April 2026, with confirmed stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Austin, and more. Special guests on the tour include Devon Gilfillian, Stephen Day, and Marc Scibilia. Artist pre-sale tickets began November 18, with public on-sale scheduled for November 21.
Wong, a Minneapolis native, has performed internationally, most recently in China and South Korea, and has a history of collaborations spanning jazz, funk, pop, and soul. He first gained prominence with Vulfpeck and has worked with artists including Jon Batiste, The Jonas Brothers, Bruce Hornsby, Chromeo, and Victor Wooten. In addition to performing, Wong produces visual and digital projects such as “The Wongnotes” variety series and hosts the Wong Notes Podcast.
