DC Vertigo announces 10 new comic series for 2026

DC announced its 2026 Vertigo comic slate at New York Comic Con on October 9, 2025. The lineup includes 10 series spanning horror, thriller, and speculative fiction, starting with James Tynion IV’s "The Nice House by the Sea."

The announcement took place during the “DC Vertigo: We’re Back!” panel at NYCC, moderated by DC executive editor Chris Conroy. Several creators, including James Tynion IV, appeared at the event and shared details about the new series and upcoming issues.

The first release will be “The Nice House by the Sea” no.7, continuing Tynion’s horror storyline about survivors of Walter’s “Hexagon” experiment confronting ongoing threats.

Other upcoming titles include:

  • “Bleeding Hearts” (Deniz Camp, Stipan Morian, Matt Hollingsworth): a story about a zombie whose heart begins to beat again.
  • “End of Life” (Kyle Starks, Steve Pugh, Chris O’Halloran): a hitman returns home to care for his dying father.
  • “The Peril of the Brutal Dark: An Ezra Cain Mystery” (Chris Condon, Jacob Phillips): a noir detective story involving magic and fascism.
  • “100 Bullets: The US of Anger” (Brian Azzarello, Eduardo Risso): Lono returns to America.
  • “Black Tower: The Raven Conspiracy” (Ram V, Mike Perkins): a story about wizard spies navigating a global cold war over occult power.
  • “Necretaceous” (Tom Taylor, Darick Robertson): scientists travel 66 million years into the past to stop a zombie virus.
  • “Fanatic” (Grace Ellis, Hannah Templer): a woman becomes obsessed with a comic book creator.
  • “The Crying Doll” (Mariko Tamaki, Rosemary Valero-O’Connell): a thriller exploring loyalty and lethal secrets.
  • “A Walking Shadow” (Simon Spurrier, Aaron Campbell): eight strangers awaken chained on a boat with no memory or escape.

The new Vertigo series is scheduled to begin publishing February 4, 2026, starting with “The Nice House by the Sea” no.7.
