1 min read

Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a new trailer and poster for its upcoming animated adventure “Zootopia 2,” introducing audiences to fresh characters and a brand-new original song, “Zoo,” performed by Shakira, who returns as the voice of Zootopia’s pop star, Gazelle.

The trailer offers a first look at a hidden reptile population as rookie officers Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) encounter a mysterious pit viper named Gary De’Snake, voiced by Academy Award-winner Ke Huy Quan. The film is directed by Disney Animation chief creative officer and Oscar winner Jared Bush, along with Byron Howard, another Oscar winner, and produced by Yvette Merino.

“Zoo” features music and lyrics by Ed Sheeran, Blake Slatkin, and Shakira, with production by Slatkin, Alex (A.C.) Castillo, Shakira, and Sheeran. The single will be released on Friday, October 10. The film’s score, composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino, will be available as part of the whole soundtrack on Friday, November 21, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on Wednesday, November 26.

“Zoo” is expected to appeal to fans of “Try Everything,” the breakout anthem from the original Zootopia (2016), which has been streamed 2.7 billion times worldwide.
